Dropbox – Cool online backup storage service

January 22nd, 2010

I’ve come across and tried many online backup storage websites but Dropbox is my most favorite of all. For you guys who don’t know what Dropbox is, it’s a Website that’s offer Online storage for free (2 GB) or paid (50-100 GB). Still confused? Well watch this great video from Dropbox:

I really love it’s sleek yet cool design that even newbies can easily familiarize themselves into. They even have a desktop application you can install that will make your backing-up much easier. Another cool feature of Dropbox is it automatically synchronize your data online if you save your folder in the “My Dropbox” folder (automatically created if you install the Dropbox software).

I highly recommend trying their free trial especially if you collaborate with other people across the net and if you frequently backup data. You can visit their site here.

Icute Titanium Pro Mini Review by Sporty Techie

Icute Titanium Pro Power Supply

Icute Titanium Pro Series Power Supply

After searching the net for a review of the Icute Titanium Pro Series Power supplies and haven’t found a single one, I decided to post up a mini-review since I own one, the 750W version to be exact. Icute has been well know for it’s nice looking casings and lately they are expanding their market starting with power supplies. A lot of people are having second thoughts about buying a much cheaper and unpopular alternative like the Icute Titanium Pro Series PSU, actually I did had second thoughts too when I bought mine about 2 years ago.

The thing that caught my attention with this PSU is it’s looks. It really looked sophisticated even with Icute’s crappy logo, the PSU casing was very polished which I liked very much. I also liked it’s large blue fan which in turned out to be quiet too. The modular cable sockets are well placed IMHO and the included cables are adequate enough for wire management even with tower casings.

About stability, I can say that it is stable and sturdy enough to supply my E7200 OC’ed Rig at 3.5 GHz using it 24/7, Prime 95 tested for almost for 2 days. As I stated above, my Icute Titatanium Pro 750W PSU was purchased almost 2 years ago and it never let me down. It even run my former power hungry Video Card, a 9800 GX2 without hiccups.

It also has a extended warranty with Icute aside from the local store warranty. Cheaper than it’s much popular and reputable counterparts like FSP and HEC but if you’re looking for a much cheaper alternative this one is a good buy. All in all, I’m personally satisfied  with it serving my Rig for almost two years now. Sometimes, you just have to try things out before you judge them.

So, what happened to the Warcraft movie

January 20th, 2010

Avid Warcraft fans especially World of Warcraft players probably all know that there’s a Warcraft Movie on works(Shame on you WoW players if you don’t). Question is, where is it? I checked IMDB.com earlier and it’s slated for a 2011 release… yeah right. A lot of rumors are circling around saying that the movie will be based on the Arthas: Rise of the Lich King novel but all of these are false and just rumors. According to the projected Director of the film, Sam Raimi:

“We would choose… something that encompasses lands and characters and storylines, and we would be true to it. But our story may or may not be about one of those central characters.”
“We would have our writer, Robert Rodat, really craft an original story within that world that feels like a ‘World of WarCraft’ adventure”

World of Warcraft Movie - The World Tree

I will still watch it even if it is the worst movie ever made

So here is a compilation of facts about the people behind the this movie, which of course will subject to change:

Director: Sam Raimi. Notable films as director: Spiderman 1,2 & 3, Army of Darkness, Evil Dead

Writers: Chris Metzen for Story. Notable Works: Starcraft, Warcraft and Diablo, the greatest games ever to be made, period. Robert Rodat for Screenplay. Notable Works: Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot, all top rated war movies.

Budget: 100 Million USD, But Blizzard Entertainment announced that the film’s budget would be “Not less than $220 million” according to Wikipedia.com

Probable plot: In August 2007, at BlizzCon, it was unveiled that the film will aim for a projected 2009 release, which of course didn’t happened. It was also revealed that the movie will take place from an Alliance perspective, with a storyline set one year before the beginning of the World of Warcraft storyline. Well, not bad story-wise either.

I just hope they deliver with this one. IMHO, I would really love if the movie has a unique story away from the World of Warcraft storyline but true to Warcraft history, I wouldn’t want to see Arthas in both game and movie. Check out this blog for some updates to the Warcraft Movie.
