WoW Gamer beats up Mom over gaming noise

WoW Gamer

James Swan

We all know that World of Warcraft is very addicting that some people lose their jobs, lose their social life, and even get personal with fellow players to the extent like this  42 year old WoW gamer and a teen fall in love (link to article here). This is another casualty of the ever growing MMO addiction caused by Blizzard’s Cash cow World of Warcraft.

According to True Crime Report, James Swan is a 27-year-old WoW addict that still lives with his mom, playing with his computer in a room together with his younger siblings. One night, he was drinking while playing WoW around 10pm when he was shouting all of sudden. Since it was already late, his Mom told him to quite down, but instead of granting his Mom a favor he went on a outburst and choked her Mom. When his little brother tried to restrain him he did the same to him just like he did to his Mom.

Apparently, his Grandpa is also living with them who happens to have a revolver. So Grandpa and James who almost killed each other wrestled over the revolver eventually unloading a shot who grazed James head and went straight out their living room window. This also ended his outrage and eventually ended in the hospital to treat his wounds before getting arrested for assaulting his own family.

Seriously, this dude is pretty fucked up to the extent of strangling your own mother and little brother. People like this makes bad reputation for gaming, especially World of Warcraft since I am a fellow WoW player. Well, maybe he was playing Arena or was in a Raid that’s why he was shouting but that doesn’t mean you have to get noisy all of a sudden late at night and worse, beat up your own blood.

Halo Reach “The Definitive Halo title”

February 16th, 2010

Another year, another Halo title. But same as 2009′s Halo: ODST, Master Chief isn’t the main hero in this one. Halo: Reach tells the story of Noble 6, a new addition to the Spartan Elite force know as Noble Team. Apparently, Halo: Reach is sort of a prequel of Halo since the storyline takes place before the events of Master Chief’s Halo: Combat Evolved. The Covenant seems to be the main enemy in this game, and we probably won’t be seeing any Flood menace.

As of now, there is no definitive release date for Halo: Reach but the multiplayer beta would take place in spring of 2010.

Left 4 Dead 2 – 28,981,249,043 zombies have been shot, bludgeoned, chainsawed and killed

February 15th, 2010

According to Left 4 Dead blog, In the first two months of Left 4 Dead 2′s release, 28,981,249,043 zombies have been shot, bludgeoned, chainsawed and killed. Can you believe that they actually tracked the stats? I think they forgot to consider the Zombie’s killed by non-legit players or pirate’s :)

Left 4 Dead 2 Zombies

You read that correctly: 28 BILLION. To put that number in perspective:

  • The entire population of the planet has been zombified and killed 4.26 times.
  • With the average height of a zombie being 6 feet, if you stacked them end to end they would circle the globe 1,322 times.
  • If you placed 28,981,249,043 rulers end to end, they would reach 28,981,249,043 feet in the sky.

In short: That is a bucketload of dead zombies. Nice job, everyone.

If you haven’t tasted killing a zombie in Valve’s massive FPS hit, then you’re missing a LOT.

Facebook + Twitter = Google Buzz

February 14th, 2010

Google Buzz logoIf you’re a Gmail user and been surprised that a new feature called Google Buzz was introduced last February 9, well don’t be. Looks familiar you say? Well, it’s because Buzz is like Facebook and Twitter integrated in Gmail. IMHO, it’s looks nice but I think I’ve been using this kind of thing with Facebook and Twitter.

Apparently, Google Buzz is really convenient since you don’t need to setup anything if you’re in Gmail since it automatically shares your “Buzz” with your contacts in Gmail. Watch this video of how Google Buzz works:

Changing your Modern Warfare 2 in-game name color

February 9th, 2010

You might have seen people with colorful in-game names while playing Modern Warfare 2 right? Actually, it’s quite simple to change the colors of your names from the default white text color, and it is done by editing your Nickname inside STEAM settings under Friends tab.

Put ^+number in front of the letters you wanna change color when you edit your nickname in STEAM. Below are the color codes:
Modern Warfare 2
^1: Red
^2: Green
^3: Yellow
^4: Blue
^5: Cyan
^6: Pink
^7: White
^8: Black

For example, my in-game name is Red and want to change the color of word “Red” to red, you just need to edit your Nickname in steam into ^1Red. That simple, just experiment to your heart’s content!
