A mother who became so obsessed with a computer game that she left her children to eat cold baked beans from the tin has been given a suspended jail sentence and banned from using computers.

The woman also allowed her German Shepherd and lurcher dogs to starve to death and left them rotting in the dining room for two months as she played Small World on the internet almost non-stop.

After a neighbor peered through the letterbox and saw the appalling conditions, the NSPCC were told and police officers entered the home and saw the decay and filth.

The children had been given no hot food and were forced to eat cold baked beans from the tin without any spoons.

The 33-year-old widow, who cannot be identified, admitted three charges of child cruelty and two of animal neglect.

SportyTechie @ The First Figaro Fun Run

September 2nd, 2010

SportTechie Runners had a great time @ The First Figaro Run held in The Fort, Taguig City last September 4, ’10. It was a cool and warm day, the sun was shining but the weather was not to hot which makes it a perfect day for running. Me, my brother and our Cousin Rafael ran the 10k category while Chris, Din2 and Vince ran the 5k category. We had great fun since we 10k runners had a great pace and ran altogether till the finish line.

The event was just average, not that bad but certainly not good. One problem we encountered was there were no notification that the 10k category was about to start. All of a sudden, the gun fired and the 10k category started. People with Garmins were also complaining that the loop for the 5k and 10k route was only around 4.2 km meaning the whole race distances was way off the mark for the 5k and 10k category. Another thing that the event organizers could have done much better was the long lines in the finish line and also in the event area. I hope that if they will held another Figaro Fun Run, they should improve on things about this especially the accuracy of the Route distance.
